China Steel Construction Society Delegation Visits Malaysia and Singapore

Li Qingwei, Secretary General of China Steel Construction Society (CSCS), led a delegation to Malaysia and Singapore for work visits from May 28 to June 3, 2024.They had in-depth exchanges on developing and consolidating friendly relations in the Southeast Asian steel construction industry, conducting extensive cooperation, and reached positive consensus.


The delegation held talks with Lei Shenglong, Secretary General of Malaysian Structural Steel Association (MSSA), Desmond Woon, association director of MSSA and representatives of steel construction fabricators. Mr. Desmond Woon warmly welcomed the delegation's visit on behalf of MSSA and hoped to strengthen communication with CSCS in the future to improve the manufacturing technology level and market competitiveness of steel construction.

Mr. Li Qingwei briefly introduced China's structural steel industry. He expressed that CSCS is very focused on the markets in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, and hoped that both sides could strengthen cooperation in the future to jointly promote the development of the steel construction industry.

The delegation visited Pelantar Insan (M) Sdn Bh, the steel construction processing plant and shopping mall building of Merdeka 118 which is currently the second tallest building in the world. Both parties conducted in-depth exchanges with key technical and management personnel.

The delegation went to China Construction Steel Structure (Malaysia) Sdn.Bnd. for exchange. Executive Director Li Peihua warmly welcomed the delegation's visit. Vice General Manager and Director Xiang Cheng introduced the company's overview, southeast Asian market and the overseas situation of Chinese enterprises. Chief Engineer Rao Jiayuan gave a detailed introduction to the KLCC project undertaken by China Construction Steel Structure (Malaysia) Sdn.Bnd.

The delegation also visited the Singapore branch of China Jingye Engineering Co., Ltd. and met with representatives from Singapore Structural Steel Society (SSSS). General Manager Tan Zhiyong welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the relevant situation of the company. Dr. Ng Yao Neong and Marc Sim, representatives of SSSS, introduced the overview of SSSS and the steel construction industry in Singapore. Li Qingwei, Secretary General of CSCS, hoped to strengthen mutual exchanges between the structural steel industries of China and Singapore through this visit, create a cooperation platform for steel construction enterprises of the two countries to promote the development of the structural steel industry.

This visit not only deepened friendship with the steel structure industry in Malaysia and Singapore, but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation and exchanges. Looking ahead to the future, CSCS will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with international peers, and promote China's steel construction industry to a broader stage.
